How Long Does Leadership MWV Run?
The Leadership program runs from January to June, every two weeks for 3 hours each session. Breakfast and coffee is provided
What Are Class Sessions Like?
Each class session covers all topics crucial to running a community. Signature topics vary from healthcare, town government, education and more, with a session where you meet many state Commissioners as well as two full day field trips and a graduation ceremony. Click for a sample class schedule.
Sessions are a Q&A panel with experts in the field. The class is geared towards fostering your professional and philanthropic career and help you build your network with town and state leaders in many fields. To put it in simple terms, this program is networking on an elevated level!
Is There Homework?
Outside of class assignments consist of partaking in interviews with leaders within the state, reading of Robert’s Rules of Order and attending two meetings, consisting of a non-profit board meeting and town meeting.
There is also a Leadership MWV blog that students are asked to participate in to continue engagement between class sessions.
The 2014 class received an anonymous donation to create a class project in which to fundraise the matching $1,000.00 donation and present it to a non-profit of the class’ choice. This project will only continue if another donation is made to the program.
How Much Does the Program Cost?
Tuition is $500 and we encourage employers to sponsor students. There are also four scholarships available.
